July 12 - the day of the fracture
August 23 - 6 weeks after the fracture
I ran for 20 minutes on the treadmill yesterday, getting down to 7 min/mile (or 4:23/km). It felt pretty smooth, but it will definitely take some time to get back to the rhythm I had going into Knee Knacker. Many people asked me if it was difficult to be at the ENDURrun and not run, but it wasn't because there was no way I could run at that time. I can see that it is going to increasingly difficult to be patient over the next few weeks because I am starting to feel good almost all the time. There is still some dull pain while I am running, but walking is completely normal, so I will stay with the Turbulence Training and the treadmill for the next little while, biding my time until I can get back into full training.
And for those that are interested, registration for the ENDURrun 2009 is now open. When I did it in 2006, there were 5 of us. Two days after opening the registration there are already 4 people! There is a cap of 50 this year, so don't delay!
